During his career as a photographer, Ashley has worked in practically every area of the photographic world, from media and fashion to fine art, commercial and portraiture. He chose to specialise in wedding photography however, after covering the wedding of a British couple that wanted to marry in the Provence area of France, about 10 years ago.

Armed with his Nikon cameras and a box full of film (yes, we used to use film back in the dark ages!), he accompanied the couple and their wedding party to France. A popular and charming French tradition, which Ashley found very interesting, entailed visiting local beauty spots to take some informal wedding photographs after the ceremony. These shots allowed Ashley’s creative spirit to shine through and the resulting images were, quite simply, stunningly beautiful.

With the introduction of quality digital cameras and such huge advances in computer methods of design, Ashley soon found that it was possible to capture the authentic atmosphere of the wedding in an informal way, and make every picture a unique work of art in it’s own right, rather than just a prescribed photographic record of the day.
